CH 20: CHOICES

“Some people do what they Want, others do what they Can!”

D. Franklin Green

In the past several years I have participated in a few good self-help seminars and can say that they have enhanced my outlook with regard to the developmental impact my Self can have on Myself a great deal.
One thing about acquiring instruction and knowledge from external sources is that you only retain so much of the information, so individuals who’ve acquired such instruction will take away lessons, encouragements and a slew of memories that more than likely, soon fade. The only truly solid, remaining aspects of the experience are the ones that had the most impact on one’s conscious and or sub-conscious mind, varying from individual to individual. I began to attended seminars here in Las Vegas shortly after a long but destined experience caring for my Father who had suffered a massive stroke. After practically staring my life all over again I was in search of a new beginning and direction. For me, at least one of the most impressionable lessons I receive from the seminar was the value of Personal Liberty (Liberty meaning Freedom) which, in my opinion, comes down to the ability to do whatever one chooses whenever one chooses, which necessitates, among other things,  sufficient financial resources. It’s quite simple. In my opinion Personal Liberty encompasses the mindset, the wealth, the relationships, the stability, etc because all are a by-product of the center which is, again, Personal Liberty.
It is intriguing to me to be able to just stop whatever it is one is doing and, without hesitation, book a cruise, or a flight across country or abroad without having to arrange time off, or get approval from superiors out of fear of losing a job. Now I’m not saying that this objective-based mindset is for everyone and I myself am still working at achieving this personal goal on a daily basis. But just imagine if one’s Choices were in line with one’s true mindset how much more abundant our lives can and would be. Now all life changing goals don’t have to have a strong Spiritual battle plan or strategy. Some just take Common Sense. The catch is to be Intentionally Consistent in the practice of such. To make Conscious Choices to take control of ones own Destiny. To impress upon one’s Self instead of looking to others for approval and validation where our own personal development is involved. These days it’s all too difficult to become and then stay focused on one’s own personal development. Now, take for example your average New York Billionaire, real estate mogul. When he woke up yesterday, as you and I also did as well, It’s what he chose to do next and the moment after that and so on and so forth that formed his destiny differently than ours. We, as individuals, do in fact have the ability to make the same, or similar, choices as the billionaire, millionaire or any other of the 6 plus billion humans on our planet. There are millions and millions of choices being made all around us daily and each and every choice has a result, repercussion, ramification, consequence, pay-off and or loss as well as an effect and aftermath. From the time we wake we choose which clothes to wear, food to eat, friends to surround ourselves with, which words come out of our mouths, etc, etc. The number of choices we make on any given day are enormous! We must take seriously our God-given privilege to make our own choices and learn to make them without fear or hesitation. This requires a lot of trust in one’s Self and God’s willingness to favor those who trust in him. So, take the time to focus on which choices you are making in your daily life and shake them up, change the way you look at choices, making them an opportunity to ascend to a higher level, realizing that our position in life begins with the choices we make.
